Anna's collection of delicious soft food recipes in Scrumptious are so good, that I've had to stop using the book entirely - because I keep giving my copy away!
My friends and family (and then their friends and family...) taste one mouthful, or look through one recipe from Scrumptious and immediately ask for (or just take) my copy for themselves or a friend who "could really do with this in their life".
A 'foodie' friend with a recent, bad diagnosis who was now contemplating their life of blended this, that and the other was ecstatic when I passed on a copy. They were surprised (that soft food could look that good!), delighted (that so many different types of food, and flavours were represented), excited (that they could still enjoy, and share tasty, appetising 'real' food), touched (that someone had 'seen' them, 'heard' their experience, and decided to help transform the barren landscape that was threatening to take over their plates and bowls). It's more than a recipe book, it is someone saying 'I see you. You are worth more... now let's go have a nice cuppa and continue to talk about your future with choc ripple whip!'.

I heartily recommend Scrumptious as a cookbook, both generally and for those specifically wanting recipes for soft foods. I have young kids and the recipes are easy to chew and so delicious. The chia puddings are a firm favourite in our house. 5 stars 😁

Anna’s book was a go-to for me when the kids were little, finding meals we could all eat while they were learning how to chew and swallow. Not only did we find delicious recipes we all loved (and still do) but reading the recipes, tips and tricks (bits and bobs), and chapter introductions was like having a dear friend in the kitchen with me. I’m learning, I’m laughing and I’m making ‘scrumptious’ food for the whole family!

I am not a good cook, so this book is great to give me options for our whole family to eat together. And batch cooking for freezing because I'm also a lazy cook!

The writing is easy to understand and provides simple recipes, tips and suggestions for meal ideas. That the recipes are good for those needing soft foods is just a bonus. Not only is this cookbook a joy to look at and read, it’s incredibly practical and an intelligent take on how to make soft food scrumptious. As a speech pathologist working in mental health settings, I love the concept of including all family members and friends around the dinner table, picnic rug or get-together. These are flavourful, healthy meal and snack ideas that will become part of your recipe repertoire.
